DATABASES
Love Crafts
Started in 2012, Love Crafts caters to multiple fiber crafts, including knitting, crochet, quilting, embroidery, and more. Through the site, knitters can find tutorials, chat with other crafters on what projects they are working on, find patterns, and purchase supplies. Search through the pattern directory by type of project, skill level, yarn weight, designer, and more. Looking for a new project? Check out the inspiration page for ideas.

Ravelry
Spend any amount of time searching for patterns online and you will inevitably stumble upon this website. Ravelry is a community-based platform with hundreds of thousands of knitting and crochet patterns. Sign-up is free and users can search patterns using their comprehensive filters, including difficulty level, yarn yardage, pattern attributes, and more. Users can track the projects they are working on, log the yarn they have in their stash, and interact with other users through the website’s extensive forums.

Note: In 2020, Ravelry went through a significant branding and site redesign, the results of which have caused reports of accessibility and health concerns from using the site. The Epilepsy Foundation of America advised that people with photosensitivity use caution when using the website. As of March 2021, the site’s creators have reportedly begun additional accessibility testing and redesign, but users who may be affected should review pattern links before clicking on them as Ravelry is used so frequently to host patterns and discussions.
Ribblr
Ribblr was created in 2019 by Lir Shilton and Saar Oron to provide a support home for crafters through innovative, modern tools and solutions. Sign-up is free and the site offers a lot of extremely useful tools to help you keep track of your project. Users can convert patterns to inches or centimeters, cross off completed steps, watch tutorials, highlight specific sizing instructions within the pattern, and more. Ribblr is also offered via app on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Yarn Database
This database is a little different from the others listed here. It is an excellent way to discover and track designers and yarn dyers. Users can filter results by pattern format, project type, technique, and a variety of considerations, including pattern accessibility. This site does not link to Ravelry.com, but instead goes directly to designer and dyer websites.
